Course Description

Law of agency including principal-agent and master-servant relationships, the authority of an agent, the termination of an agent’s authority, the fiduciary and other duties of an agent, employment law, deceptive trade practices, listing or buying representation procedures, and the disclosure of an agency.

Learning Objectives for Students

On completion of the course, students will be able to:

• Identify reasons for suspension or revocation of a Guam Real Estate license.
• Illustrate ways in which agency relationships can be created and terminated.
• Describe the fiduciary relationship that exists between an agent and his principal.
• Distinguish between dual agency and single agency.

Assessment

Students need to complete all of the class assignments. The purpose of the assignments is for you to practice the concepts covered in class. Completing all the homework problems is the best way to practice and prepare for the exam.

You are encouraged to work with others on the assignments. However, do not simply use others to do your work but rather use others to help work through and engage in the concepts.

Exam

There is one final exam. You are expected to be present, seated, and ready to take the exam before the end of the class. You are permitted to use any outside materials, resources, or electronic devices on the exam. The final exam is comprehensive and will be given during a 30-minute block before the end of the class.

Passing Grade & Certificate

The final score of 75% will be considered as a passing grade, and the certificate will be issued to the participant within a week.
